MEET MELANIE BROOKS
Author's note: Writing this in third person to be fancy!
Melanie Brooks is the byproduct of a Valley Girl and a New Yorker. This hybrid is a rare native to Los Angeles. She began her professional acting career at the age of eight and never looked back. Melanie has booked work in several national commercial campaigns including chasing Goofy through Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland and being Amy Poehler's perky, supportive sidekick with Xfinity Mobile. She exclaimed "Sketchers! They're delicious!" as a VO artist for, you guessed it, Sketchers, and cried, "God Bless y'all. All y'all!" to Rob Lowe on Fox's series premiere of "9-1-1: Lone Star," yelled, "What a jerk!" on TeenNick's "Zoey 101," as well as performing in Theatre and Film on both coasts. For her first professional writing credit, Melanie also served as leading lady — co-starring in the web series Party at Micah's, which was showcased at MIPTV in Cannes. Melanie continues to write herself into the spotlight — her original one-act play, Barely Yet a Woman, had its sold-out premiere in May at the Elysian Theatre and was rewarded with an encore in June. It is currently being developed into a short.
Melanie earned a BFA at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, studying Drama at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, Stonestreet Studios, and Musical Theatre at CAP21. She graduated with minors in Film Production and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She honed her improv comedy skills with Kip King (LA) & The Groundlings (LA), and at Upright Citizens Brigade (NY). She studied writing for TV and Film at NYU's Dramatic Writing Department, and UCLA extension. She continues to study acting with Leigh Kilton Smith (LA).
Beyond hosting red carpets and panels, Melanie hosts Virtual Team Building events, leading events for businesses, non-profits and many of the world’s biggest companies such as Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft. Connecting people from all walks of life and professions through curiosity, creativity, and collaborative communication is Melanie's specialty. It is the common thread that brings all of these moonlighting professional pursuits together. It is what grounds Melanie to be her most authentic and creatively fulfilled self as an artist in between the one of many auditions and bookings in this wild, unpredictable life in show biz.
Melanie splits her time between LA and NY.
